The voluptuous Jane Russell, the brunette in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes opposite Marilyn Monroe and the woman that multi-billionaire Howard Hughes invented a bra for, passed away today. She may have been known for her two attributes, but this was a grand lady who worked hard in the field of adoption after realizing she cannot have any children. She was also a devout Christian, something that's incredibly hard in the business. She and Marilyn had actually a bit in common. Each were only used for their looks in their film, but no one knew of their true acting abilities and unfortunately, no one seemed to care. Just as long as they looked good in front of the camera, they needn't do anything witty or smart. Making movies with Howard Hughes just destroyed her career. But she persevered. Unfortunately, Marilyn wasn't as strong.
God called her home, and off she went happily. Goodbye, dear Jane.
